My new year resolutions

"A New year means another chance to make things right"

Every year we make new year resolutions and I think I speak for many of us when I say we hardly ever stick to them. Life just get in the way. This year I decided I'm going to make a list. A list reasonable enough to achieve doesn't matter what life throws in my path.

Here we go:

  • Listen more and speak less. I think these days we are so caught up in our own lives that we forget to listen to our own heart and to the hearts of others while they speak.
  • Ask more, Assume less.  Like they say Assume is making an "Ass" out of "u" and "me". I tend to assume a lot of things.
  • Don't overthink things.
  • I want to judge less. Every person has a certain way of summing up people they meet and sometimes it's wrong. I want to get to know people for who they are, judge a situation considering all the facts and never be that person to judge someone for their past and the mistakes they made.
  • I want to allow myself to love again.
  • Make peace with the past and concentrate on the future. I don't think I'm the only person guilty of this. I ask myself too many times " What went wrong" rather than concentrating on the things that can go right right now.
  • Meet somebody new every day. I don't go out with the idea to meet someone special every day but rather to meet someone every day and so far it has been working out.
  • Make somebody smile at least once a day.
  • Give people complements.  Not just "Oh, You have a very nice hand bag" but rather "You have a really beautiful smile"
  • Find my inner beauty.
  • Continuously push myself to aim higher.  I think we frequently get so caught up in the negativity of the world that we forget about our own goals and dream because according to the world they are impossible.
  • Think positive thoughts.
  • Give someone the benefit of the doubt.
  • Trust more.
  • Forgive more.
  • Love more
  • Rise above the little things.
  • To give myself a tap on the back more often.  Sometimes we are so humble that we forget to praise ourselves on our achievements. You don't achieve anything without hard work and determination and I think I owe it to myself to be proud of myself.
  • Be happy with my body and if I'm not change it.  I'm not going to write lose weight and tone up or get fitter because that's not really the important thing. The important thing is to rather be happy in my own skin.
  • Find a job that makes me happy.
  • Be myself in every situation possible.
  • Stand up for yourself.
  • I'm the reason for my own happiness. In 2015 I started concentrating on the things that makes me happy and doing the things I love in full force. I'm going to continue with that.
  • Keep in contact with those you have met along the way.
  • Volunteer.  There are so many people less fortunate than me and giving is one way to share your love.
  • Appreciate more.  From where I come from it's easy to take things for granted. I'm not talking about the gifts people give you but the small little things people do around you in order to make your life more pleasant.
  • Never give up on your dreams.  The world loves crushing people's dreams and tremble all over us in order to make themselves feel better. It's the mission of a lot of people.
  • Use this fresh start and start fresh.

- Happy New Year -
